In partnership with the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) Inc., the Saskatoon Peace Coalition, and the Department of Religion and Culture Studies at St. Thomas More College, the Islam, Peace, and Justice Conference brings together scholars from across the world and a multitude of disciplines to discuss the intersections of Islamic traditions, peacebuilding, and social justice. The goal of the Conference is to challenge worn-out stereotypes about Muslims and the all-too-common connection between Islam and violent extremism. In the place of these stereotypes, this Conference illustrates how Islam and Muslims draw from faith-inspired principles to foster resilient cultures of peace and justice.
